摘要 |
青春期學生的身體從以前到現在都是學界關注的焦點,然其文化性與社會意義從未獲得應有的理解與重視。再者,性別的學習與實踐涉及身體。在日常生活中,身體乃是具體化性/別主體的媒介;而學校作為制度化的社會場域,提供讓人成為男人、女人的重要場所。因此國中學生在校園生活中,如何經驗青春期的身體?校園中的身體因性別的差異,呈現哪些不同的文化符碼與意識規範?如果性/別化的身體既是文化的建構,又是政治爭鬥的場域,那麼國中學生在此爭戰中將會展現哪些主體性與抗拒?他/她們的身體嬉戲、互動、語言又會透露出哪些訊息,讓我們可以一窺他/她們自己的身體意識和性別實作?
本研究以南部兩所國中學生為研究對象,利用民族誌的研究方法進入青少年的校園生活裡,藉由深入他/她們的校園生活,去探詢國中校園中男女學生的性別實作與身體經驗,關注這些身體經驗如何形塑他/她們肉身化、性別化、性的主體與認同,並展現出何種集體性的性/別與身體文化。本研究希冀這些研究發現可以為國內性/別教育與研究提供一些新的觀點與理解,並能和教師及年輕學生分享、反思、接納校園中多樣的性別關係與身體實踐。

An Ethnography of Adolescent Life in Schools: Issues of Gender Practices and Bodily Experiences

Abstract |
The body, gender, and sexuality education of adolescents has long
been neglected and educators pay little attention to the sexed, gendered
and sexualized selves constructed through collective sexual cultures in
adolescents’ lives. Also, adolescent sexuality education rarely connects to
adiscussion and understanding that takes intoaccount the inseparabilityof
the body, gender, and sexuality. The author argues that the body should not
be a neglected cultural sign in campus life. Drawing from ethnographic
research conducted in two secondary schools in south Taiwan, this article
intends to further our understanding of adolescents’ gender practices and
bodily experiences in their campus lives, and to show how those gendered
and lived bodily experiences relate to emerging adolescent identities and
subjectivities.
